Acura Launches PMC Edition Vehicles
Acura already makes high-end vehicles: Sporty, luxurious, capable, and sharp-looking cars are its calling-card. The lineup is about to get even more prestigious, though.
The brand recently announced a new line of PMC Edition models. These special Acura PMC vehicles, which stands for Performance Manufacturing Center, will be produced in the same plant as the stunning Acura NSX supercar. They’ll combine high-end performance with eye-popping aesthetics to offer pure driving excitement.
Two different models will get the PMC treatment: first, the thrilling Acura TLX sedan and later, the capable Acura MDX luxury SUV. They’ll bring the sporty performance of the Acura’s A-spec line and the premium, class-leading features found in the available Advance Package. They’ll be all wrapped up in special-edition PMC badging and a limited edition Valencia Red Pearl color, applied with the highest-quality paint that Acura has ever offered on production models: the same nano pigment technology previously found only on the NSX.
They’ll all be handcrafted at the PMC facility in Marysville, Ohio, just like the NSX.
“We designed the PMC not only to build NSX, but to give Acura the flexibility to explore handcrafted production of limited edition models,” Acura Brand Officer Jon Ikeda said. The PMC TLX and PMC MDX will be the first non-supercar models to come out of the plant, but Ikeda added that the brand is exploring additional vehicles to build there.
The 2020 Acura TLX PMC Edition will be the highest trim for next year’s TLX models, packing a direct-injected i-VTEC® V6 powertrain and Acura Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive. Combine that drivetrain with the brilliant paint job, gloss black 19-inch 5-spoke wheels and gloss black appointments, and dual 4-inch black chrome exhaust finishers and you have a car that doesn’t just project power and prestige: it embodies it.
The 2020 Acura TLX PMC Edition will begin shipping later this summer. To whet your appetite while you wait, check out the full lineup of new Acura models here at our Jersey City area Acura dealer.
